Barely four months after they married, Tom and Ily were betrayed, arrested and thrown into a KGB prison for trying to escape their homeland. They would not see each other again for six years.
For the first time after forty-two years, they go back. They find their streets, their music, and their homes. First returning to the prison cells which held them captive, Tom and Ily then retrace the entire escape route through three countries which started their twelve year journey to find their dream.
This is the story of their dramatic escape to freedom and their emotional return to a country where everything had changed except for their memories and their hopes. It is a story about going home. It is a story about dreams and a second chance. Most of all, it is a toast to the human spirit which breaks walls, overcomes the worst of odds, yet still finds laughter…and a reason to dance.
